Great Service the crew is Awsome

Yes it's an older building, and yes the fee is $100 on race weekend - BUT - you can't beat the crew of people who work there. If you have a problem or don't like a fee you GO SEE THE MAN IN CHARGE!!

Best group of homegrown people around. Make a friend there and they are your friend for life. Jim never forgets a face - all around - you won't find any place better.

This place is a dump. The FBO building hasn't been updated since the 1960s. No contract fuel. No crew car. Purchase a rental car you say? No I will not part with $45 just to go get some terrible fast food. Nevermind I just bought $5000 of jet fuel. Miles from civilization, no food close by. If you have to wait here, just go ahead and starve. The line crew (if you can call them that) will try to park you facing downwind. No, I will not park a turbine aircraft with 22 knots of wind up the tailpipe. Ever heard of a hung/hot start? Idiots. There is nothing redeeming about this part of the country. If it's not a NASCAR race the locals don't pay attention to life.

Flew in for the fall '16 race and was charged a $100 landing fee for a small single engine plane. They parked us at the very edge of the airport property in the grass. Leaving in the evening the lady told me they had had 63 aircraft operations that day. So why was I parked at the end of the world on the grass with no one else around? and why was I charged $100 landing fee when any other weekend of the year there is none? They wonder why their aircraft arrivals on race weekends is down - well it's because you're pricing it out of the GA market. Departing was just as bad. The FAA hands you your IFR clearance in the terminal. I departed VFR for faster departure and was told I could not open IFR in the air within 40 miles of BHM due to workload.

I was in Tuscaloosa the day before for the Bama v.TAMU game. $25 ramp fee (every day of the year) with over 300 aircraft operations on Saturday. VFR departure picking up IFR in the air - that's how you handle a huge sporting event, NOT what Talladega is doing.
